Stuff I want to present
In my powerpoint I want to discuss; my experiment, how people are conditioned to like music (with an example), how music affects the brain and what neurologically happens. I don't have time for all of them, I can do any 3 though.

Proposal
In my second quarter passage, I had a skimpy PowerPoint and I strayed from my original idea. This quarter, that all changes; I am going to explore the effects that music has on the human brain. I will research the brain and why music has the effects it has on the mind of a person. I will also conduct a psychological experiment on 5 people (3 students with parental permission, one of my brothers and my father), in which I will give them a puzzle of their choice (of one of the two provided by me), they will solve it with no music, then with their choice of music and finally with music I choose. I will time each test and record the time and each song played. As for an expert, I have yet to find one, but am open to suggestions.
Some questions I would like to answer are
· How does music affect the brain?
· Are we conditioned to like the music we like? How?
· Do different kinds of music affect the mind differently?
As for how I will budget my time; I plan on researching from now until Feb. 13 2011. I will also send out permission forms for students interested in being evaluated. From Feb. 14 through Feb 20 2011, I will finalize the roster of accepted applicants and will set a time that works best for them (confined within the dates listed later). From Feb. 21 through Mar. 4 2011, I will perform the tests and culminate the results, creating a hypothesis on how music affects cognition speed. For the remainder of the time, I will research how music affects other aspects of the mind.
Goals:
· I want to see what causes a person to like a certain kind of music.
· I want to find a way to affect someone’s cognition speed with a musical piece.
· I want to see if it is possible nurture someone’s brain into liking a different kind of music at will.
